Collection: Our Current Exhibition: MARIA D'ANGELO
Maria D'Angelo paints portraits of horses. Like all good portrait artists she shows us the character of her subject, and also the mood her subjects are feeling at the moment. We see horses expressing compliance, annoyance, pride, determination, patience and other moods. In other words, Maria shows us the person in the horse. Since every horse is difference, so are her works. She is widely acclaimed for her ability to shows us the personality of the magnificent animals she paints. -- PEO
Maria's work exhibits at major shows and in museums throughout America. These include National Cowboy Hall of Fame & Museum, AQHA Museum, Lexington History Museum. And she lends to museums and galleries such as those shown here. Her work regularly wins awards, most recently the annual award given by the magazine Art Of the West.
Maria says, “I work in multiple mediums but the pencil, whether colored or graphite, is by far my most favorite tool of choice. To me there is no greater reward than being able to bring happiness to people through my art.”
