Collection: NATIVE AMERICANS

Native Americans arrived in the Americans about sixteen thousand years ago having crossed over the Bering Straight when it was frozen.  Known by many names, they made a life for themsleves in the  total wilderness.  Around 1630 some Pueblos saw horses for the first time ridden by Spanish ranchers around Santa Fe.  These Pueblos knew a good thing when they saw it. They captured some wild herds, trained and incorporated them into their daily lives.  The Pueblo traded their horses to the Navajo, the Navajo to the Ute, the Ute to the Apache, the Apache to the Comanche, the Comache to the the Shoshone, and the rest is history.
