Human beings in a group, at any stage of technological development, have usually been able to defeat most animals.  In this situation, however, two vs one may not give the edge to the humans.  These hunters are not panicking, maybe because the bear demonstrates no animosity against them.  She just wants a fish for dinner.  Note the control the riders have over their mounts.  Grizzly bears are a horse's worst nightmare.  Martin shows that the horses are alarmed. Yet, they remain in control under the skillful hands of their riders.   

In contrast to this hot confonrtation, the magnificent, lush forest and cascading falls offer a cool respite for the braves and for the bear. Who knows how this encounter will end?
